What do you want in a real estate broker?

Well, you want an honest, competent representative to help you navigate your transaction.  You probably want someone with experience with what you are doing, so you have a successful transaction.  You can only learn so much of this stuff in school!  It doesn't hurt if your broker is a local native who really knows the territory, either.

I was born in Iowa City and am raising a family here.  I know the area and have a continued stake in its success. I owned a commercial real estate company in Tucson, worked as VP of special projects for Reddington Investments in El Paso, owned Edberg Investment Company in Phoenix, was a senior investment broker at Cornish and Carey Commercial in Sacramento, and now I'm a partner at Coldwell Banker Real Estate Professionals in Iowa City.

I also have lots of experience in all types of residential and commercial real estate.  Since I was first licensed in 1977 (that's 31 years!), I have done investment sales, commercial leasing, commercial user sales and leasing and was a sales manager with Premier Homes in Tucson.

I continually upgrade my skills, too. I hold the CCIM (Certified Commercial Investment Member) and the SIOR (Society of Industrial and Office Realtors) designations from the National Association of Realtors earned by a select few of the top commercial brokers in America.
